A teenager is in a major trauma centre after he was shot in Chigwell. 

Armed officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) were called to New North Road last night (April 3).

The emergency services were dispatched to the scene of shooting at 9.46pm where they discovered a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound. 

He was treated at the scene before being taken to a major trauma centre where his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

A crime scene along the road remains in place whilst the Met investigate. 

Nobody has been arrested as yet.
